Gentry’s Catering, LLC is managed by Ed Gentry, a Culpeper Lawyer with a love for great food and great service at a reasonable price. Gentry’s mother, Lucy Mae Gentry, received her degree in Home Economics from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC in 1934. She instilled early on in both her sons the satisfaction that comes from the preparation and serving of a fine meal.

His grandmother and mother’s old Southern recipes were enjoyed then and are still used today in many of the banquets and dinners catered by Gentry and his staff. You will find that their pleasure is derived from the opportunity to serve your needs in a creative fashion and to watch you and your guests enjoy the menu you have selected.

Miranda Cooper, a long-time Culpeper resident, has been in the food service industry for nearly 25 years and an active and valued member of Gentry’s Catering for over 18 years. As Assistant Manager and Staffing Supervisor, Ms. Cooper not only helps in the preparation of the menu but sees that your groups staffing needs are fulfilled.

Gentry’s son studied Hospitality Management at East Carolina University and gained three years experience as manager of a highly successful restaurant in Greenville, NC. Eddie returned in May of 2003 to be involved full time with the business after serving as a restaurant/bar consultant to over one hundred establishments in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland – including Outback Steakhouse, Red Hot & Blue, Applebee’s, and Damon’s. Often Gentry’s brother, Garland, a fine cook in his own right, assists in the preparation of the menu.

Beginning modestly in 1980 with a few requests for his cheesecakes, the business soon developed into one which provided food for employee banquets and picnics, light, medium and heavy hors d’oeuvres,dinners for wedding receptions, and buffet dinners for as many as 2,500 people.

Since 1980, Gentry’s Catering has evolved into a full service catering organization capable of providing almost any menu for your group, whether at your home, rental facility or in a rural setting.
